About the competition
To celebrate 2024 Research & Innovation Week, you are invited to create an image that addresses this question:
What does research mean to you?
Create an image through any medium, including photography or digital renders. The image needs to be high resolution, full colour or black and white and submitted as a JPG or TIFF.
You will also need to write 50 words to accompany the image explaining your inspiration and how the image addresses the meaning of research.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) may generate the image. If AI is used, the prompt words (by the human applicant) given to the AI engine must be included in the 50-word explanation/description. The AI engine/tool (Midjourney, etc.) must be referenced. Such AI images provide an engaging discussion point for Academic Integrity issues in Research.
Competition Prizes include $1,000 gift card for each Student and Staff entry selected by the executive judging panel, including Torrens Global Education personnel, and $250.00 gift card for each Student and Staff entry with the most votes from Torrens Global Education staff and students.
All eligible submissions for consideration by the selection panel will be judged according to the following criteria:
- How well the image relates to the question: What does research mean to you?
- How the image relates to 2024 Research and Innovation Week theme and the TUA Be Good philosophy
- Originality of image
- Creative expression
- Written explanation for the inspiration
The competition runs from 12.00noon on Tuesday, 16th April 2024, to 12.00noon on Wednesday, 15th June 2024, with entries to be submitted via the submission link.
